Seattle Springtime
When the weather hits a lovely 25 degrees celsius it’s time to admit that spring has finally made its appearance here in Seattle. Our summer/spring last year was actually very cold, we had chilly weather all the way into July and August and had maybe two weeks of summer by the end. This year, I am hopeful that warm weather will appear sooner and stay longer. It’s already sunny and warm and it’s June! That’s a very good sign.
Spring flowers
Another great sign of spring time in Seattle are the flowers - when fancy Peonies make their way to Pike Place Market that is a sure indicator of spring, these flowers only come out once a year! Warm weather means more time outdoors, and I’ve already made my way to the market a few times this season. Each time it was to see these flowers in bloom.
Seattle springs have become something sacred to me because the winters are getting longer (in my opinion) and I only really long for the warm weather. We don’t get it often here, it is really limited to a few months and within those months it’s also hard to find the sunshine. We do get rain here but most of the time it’s an overcast day and the warm sunshine is hidden. This year does show much promise though, I’m really excited to see what the spring and summer hold for us! We’re looking forward to our summer time to-do list, do you make these? Here are a few of the things on our list this summer:
Have a picnic in the sunshine
Mid afternoon naps x 3
Molly Moon’s ice cream flights
Spend a day at the beach
Something else on our summer time list is to travel - we have a few trips booked for this summer in both July and August. We are also planning to have our engagement photos taken while away in August. Our summer is booked! But I am so excited to document Summer 2019 here on these pages. In our little corner of the internet.
