Weekends in Seattle
Our Seattle weekends are pretty laid back because our weeks are filled with busy and go go go. On the weekends we love going for walks and exploring new areas of the city. So this past weekend we looked around our neighborhood Magnolia and walked through some wonderful plant stores in the sunshine.

I never really understood the love of plants until I met Joe. He has and always had plants, and can actually keep them alive for longer than a month. Unlike myself, who forgets to water them or for those plants who don’t need much water, I tend to drown them. But Joe is the plant whisperer - he actually sits and watches his plants grow some mornings. It taught me to sit down with him and watch them grow too and maybe even learn how to keep them alive. (Though he is still the one to water them all the time.) Now whenever I get a new plant as a gift, he’s the one keeping them alive and well. We are the proud parents of peace lilies, a money tree, and a little succulent. I am also the proud parent of many Pike Place flower bouquets, that die in about a week or two after I buy them :) That’s it!
The sunshine is rare here in the city, and when it does appear I like taking full advantage of it. Our Sunday included taking a walk, going to the local coffee shop, strolling through the rows of plants at the garden center and then taking a nice blanket and pillows on the grassy fields and just lounging in the sunshine. We did not get burnt (that tells you what kind of sun we have here, barely sun) but it was so warm and relaxing that we definitely fell asleep. It was a great weekend! One I am looking forward to repeating once summer decides to show up on the coast.
