Work trip to San Francisco

Since the last post before this one was dated back to 2020 - I wanted to give a quick update on my work life. I am absolutely fortunate to work at Amazon again - in 2022 I left Amazon to take a break and 4 months later Amazon called me back and I went to work for an entirely different org. My time at Amazon has led me to so many places and the latest one is in the Sustainability org focused on datasets related to air quality, operational waste, inventory waste, and food waste. I am so happy to be in an org where I feel like I have intrinsic value just by being here, everyone I work with is exceptionally smart and dedicated to making this earth a better place.

My team recently had a few org changes - our director left, we got a new manager etc. And our new manager sits in San Francisco, as a team we took a trip down to SF to meet in person and go over our plans for the upcoming year. It was absolutely beautiful to be in the city, I had no idea this is the place where Databricks, Google, Salesforce, Microsoft etc. all have buildings - the city is such a lively place. While I was there I found out the city is half the size of Seattle but roughly a similar population, which is why I felt it was so lively.

While in SF I saw the Golden Gate Bridge, San Jose, Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea and Big Sur. I had the great opportunity to learn from my coworkers, ask lots of silly questions, bond with my team and experience driverless cars for the first time. It was a wonderful trip and a great way to connect with my team, myself, and the environment. SF is a wild city, I can’t wait to go back!
